Carol Jenkins was a renowned medical anthropologist who worked with sex workers, transgenders and drug users. She died in January 2008 and this blog exists to celebrate her achievements.

I'm Dr.Kianoosh Kamali from Iran. I spent few days with Carol in last two years, working on marginalized people in Iran. She came to Iran to help us, while she was not well. All of us in Iran will miss her so much and I can only say thanks to the God for giving us this opportunity to be with her and here her advices even for a short time. Please tell her family our sympathy (especially her son who plays a percussion instrument and Carol told me about him). May her soul rest in peace. Kianoosh
